US President Joe Biden filled the months before Inauguration Day lining up a slate of Cabinet secretaries, assistants and advisers, many of them Jewish.
Biden’s choices reflect a diverse cross-section of American Jewry and possess expertise gleaned from decades of experience in government, science and medicine and law.
Here’s a rundown of the Jewish names you should know as the Biden administration begins.
Blinken, a longtime Biden adviser with an extensive diplomacy resume, is the stepson of a Holocaust survivor whose stories shaped his worldview and subsequently his policy decisions, including in the Middle East. He holds mainstream Democratic views about Israel and said during his confirmation hearing Tuesday that he wants the US to reenter the Iran nuclear deal — and that he would consult with Israel on Iran policy.
Cohen, who has long been involved in Jewish causes and issues, will occupy the job he held under President Barack Obama. He does not require confirmation, meaning that Biden’s CIA has a top expert in Iran issues from Day One.
Garland was blocked from joining the Supreme Court in the last year of the Obama administration. Now, he’ll require Senate confirmation to become the country’s top lawyer. In his speech after being nominated, he credited his grandparents, who fled anti-Semitism in Europe before coming to the US.
Haines was deputy director of the CIA under Obama and Biden reportedly considered her to run that agency. Her mother was the Jewish painter Adrian Rappin (originally Rappaport), and her non-Jewish father once wrote in an account about a trip with Haines to Israel that the nominee identifies as Jewish.
Klain, a longtime Biden aide who was the president-elect’s first major appointment in November, was previously chief of staff to Biden in his vice president days and to Vice President Al Gore. He has maintained ties with his childhood synagogue in Indianapolis, where he famously learned multiple Torah portions for his bar mitzvah, and has spoken about his commitment to raising Jewish children.
Lander, a leading geneticist, will require Senate confirmation after Biden elevated his position to the Cabinet level. After he was criticized for toasting James Watson, the scientist who is credited with discovering the shape of DNA and who also expressed racist and sexist views, Lander said he, too, had been the subject of anti-Semitic comments by Watson.
Levine, raised in a Conservative Jewish home in Massachusetts, is Pennsylvania’s health secretary. She is the first known transgender person to be nominated for a position that requires Senate confirmation.
Mayorkas, 60, the deputy secretary of Homeland Security under President Barack Obama, was born in Cuba to a Cuban Jewish father and Romanian Jewish mother who survived the Holocaust. He has worked closely with Jewish groups and spoken often about the specific threats facing American Jews. An array of Jewish groups sought a swift confirmation given the threat of extremist violence surrounding the presidential transition, but a Republican senator who supported overturning the election results blocked that possibility on Tuesday.
An Orthodox Jew originally from Brooklyn and educated through college in Orthodox schools, Neuberger has worked at the NSA for more than a decade. She helped establish the US Cyber Command and worked as chief risk officer, where she led the agency’s election security efforts for the 2018 midterms.
Sherman was the lead negotiator for the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and took the lead in advocating for the agreement with the Jewish and pro-Israel communities, later describing tensions with Israel and some American Jewish groups over the deal as “very, very painful.” She has also played a role in hewing the Democratic Party platform to traditional pro-Israel lines.

Great documentary. Only one slight mistake. At 14:00 it is said that confidence in Ferdinand II is shrinking. But at that time (1645) the emperor Ferdinand II had already died and had been succeeded by his son Ferdinand III, whose portrait is the left one in the back of the room at 8:36 .
I like how this German documentary manages to cram some modern propaganda down the throats of the listeners about the EU. The Treaty of Westphalia was the foundation of the nation-state model (One nation for one people). Although the Catholic Church and the Pope had a dominant presence in the European politics, they were not unchallenged and the Western Schism allowed many movements to arise in Europe. The works of the English philosopher and theologian John Wycliffe influenced many, among them Jan Hus of Bohemia. His supporters- the Hussites soon took over the country and kept the whole of Central Europe in fear for 15 years. Five Crusades were conducted against them, led by the Hungarian king Sigismund I, but the Taborites under Jan Zizka (Žižka) won many battles (Vitkov Hill, Kutna Hora, Vysehrad, and others) using their famous Wagenburg tactics. The Hussites were only defeated at the battle of Lipany (1434) when two main groups within the movement (Taborites and Utraquists) faced each other. The Hussite Wars were important, as they became the harbinger of the Reformation and the European Wars of Religion.

As a Liechtenstein myself I have to say that the Freie Liste is a problematic party because they only critizse things but they never bring something forward that can be put in to law. Also they have only 2 seats in our government which is alot in a government which is only as large as 25 seats and with only 4 parties. So they are a fringe voice.
Wow - such a cool and interesting vid. The reason the Monarchy/Presidency/Whatever (MPW) in this scenario works is because the villages can vote to leave the country or the people can vote to chuck out the MPW. This ensures that Governance is answerable to the people. The Veto power is fascinating and its a critical element in keeping the system stable. The "long term welfare" that the MPW provides is critical to long term success in my view.
I think having a long-term head of state is a totally legitimate idea. With presidents, prime ministers, and other representatives, they have to spend a year or more getting their head around the job, often get short-term legislation through rather than taking on a long-term focus, and have to worry about reelection campaigning before they've even finished their job. While having a head of state that is unchosen by the people might pose something of a problem, a long-term, high command position in government is a good idea.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews — a Jewish and Zionist supremacist organization — has published three separate “Jewish manifestos” outlining their demands for all political candidates to follow in London, Scotland, and Wales, ahead of the forthcoming elections in May:
The detailed manifestos set out a series of issues affecting Jews in each of their local communities. Some of the recommendations, to which it is hoped individual candidates will sign up, are matched in each manifesto, while others are more specific, with individual “policy asks” relevant to the particular community. Board president Marie van der Zyl said: “As our society recovers from the pandemic, these manifestos provide a road map to elected representatives on how they can serve their Jewish constituents. Following the recommendations will help ensure that the [local] Jewish community is supported and valued.”
The Jewish Manifesto for London has been drafted by the London Jewish Forum, the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council. The community’s policy priorities are summarised in the manifesto’s “#TenCommitments” that candidates are being asked to support, which include implementation of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism, ensuring faith and culturally sensitive provision of public services and opposition to boycotts of Israel.
Adrian Cohen and Andrew Gilbert, co-chairs of the London Jewish Forum, said: “The last year has been incredibly tough for Londoners, including our Jewish community. This manifesto will give our elected officials a guide to addressing the needs of London’s Jewish community as we come out of this pandemic. We very much look forward to working with the next mayor, their team and the London Assembly to support the Jewish community.”
Among the “policy asks” in the London Jewish Manifesto are detailed concerns about transport routes which affect the Jewish community in the capital, including a renewed plea for the linking of bus routes between Stamford Hill and Golders Green, and a request to retain bus routes under threat in outlying areas of London — often relied on by Jewish school students.
In Wales, ahead of the Senedd elections, the Jewish community has launched its Jewish Manifesto in two languages — Welsh and English. It has been drafted by the South Wales Jewish Representative Council and the Board of Deputies. As with London, the community’s policy priorities are summarised in the #TenCommitments / #YDegYmrwtmiad. Laurence Kahn, chair of the South Wales Jewish Representative Council, said: “The Jewish Manifesto for Wales guides Senedd candidates on how they can ensure that Wales continues to be a great place to be Jewish. We urge them to support it.”
The Welsh Jewish Manifesto notes: “Jewish communities must not be forced out of the public square by antisemitism, and we must recognise that increasingly the public square is online. As part of a wider anti online hate strategy, the Welsh government should commit to combatting online antisemitism as well”.
Meanwhile in Scotland, where there are elections pending in Holyrood, there is a Jewish Manifesto drafted by the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities, the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council, the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council.
As with the other two manifestos, the Scottish one asks candidates in the elections to support its #TenCommitments, again including the implementation of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism, ensuring culturally sensitive provision of public services, promoting of links to Israel and supporting anti-racist education.
Noting that “there are Jewish people in every local authority area in Scotland, with substantial communities in the Glasgow area, and in Edinburgh and the Lothians, small but vibrant clusters in Tayside and Fife, and around Aberdeen, and significant numbers of Jewish individuals throughout the whole of Scotland”, the drafters point out that “although there is no single ‘Jewish view’ on many political issues, there is a great deal of unanimity on issues that directly affect the community, and throughout this document, we have sought to represent as much of that consensus as possible”.
A spokesperson for the organisations said: “The last year has been incredibly hard for everyone. So many people have lost, or know someone who has lost, a loved one. As Scotland recovers and rebuilds from the pandemic, this manifesto provides a guide for the next intake of MSPs (members of the Scottish Parliament) on how best to represent Jewish Scots. We look forward to working with the new Scottish Parliament and government on implementing our manifesto proposals, and we urge all candidates and elected representatives to endorse the principles summarised in the #TenCommitments to help ensure that Scotland continues to be a great place to be Jewish.”
This is yet another example of unmitigated “chutzpah” — any other group that attempted to make these same demands would be denounced as “domestic terrorists” — and arrested on “hate crime” charges.
Jews have no interest in making sure that England, Wales and Scotland continue to be “great places to be English, Scottish, and Welsh” — that, of course, would be “antisemitic” and “dangerous.”
Despite their tiny numbers in Wales and Scotland, Jews make it sound that they deserve to have influence completely disproportionate to their actual numbers — which they most certainly do.
In fact, all that the 8,000 Jews in Scotland have to do to get their way is to threaten to leave the country en masse — as if them leaving would somehow be a terrible blow to Scotland’s happiness.
And Scotland’s afro-Pakistani Justice Minister — at the behest of Scotland’s tiny Jewish population — has enacted new draconian laws that will allow the government to literally monitor “hate speech” in people’s private homes.
We can’t have the ethnic Scottish people talking about this tiny Jewish cabal that is running the country — that might cause “another” Holocaust if they found out what’s really going on.
And the proof that there is a powerful Jewish cabal is that it is illegal to criticize them.
Or the fact that when 50 young women were raped and sexually assaulted by members of a Jewish fraternity at Saint Andrews University, no one went to jail — the Jewish perpetrators were allowed to leave the country to escape prosecution.
Jews seem especially concerned about antisemitism in Wales — they actually fire bombed Welsh historian Alan Wilson’s home because his research clearly established that the Welsh people were direct descendants of the ancient Israelites — a fact that directly challenges the false historical identity that Jews have fabricated for themselves.
But these “Ten Commandments” that the Jews have issued to all politicians are nothing new — anyone who crosses the Jews will be publicly humiliated and forced to grovel at their feet begging for forgiveness — just ask MP Neale Hanvey what happens when you object to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Here is documentary proof of the beginning of their deliberate plot to foment the Negroes into all their lawlessness. Around 1910, one Israel Zangwill wrote a play entitled “The Melting Pot.” It was sheer propaganda to incite the Negroes and Jews because the play purportedly visualized how the American people were discriminating against and persecuting Jews and Negroes. At that time, nobody seemed to realize that it was a propaganda play—it was that cleverly written. The propaganda was well lapped up, and the truly great entertainment in the play, and it was a big Broadway hit. Now, in those years, the legendary Diamond Jim Brady used to throw a banquet at the famous Delmonico Restaurant in New York, after the opening performance of a popular play. He threw such a party for the cast of “The Melting Pot,” its author, producer and chosen Broadway celebrities. By then I already made a personal mark on the Broadway theater, and was invited to that party. There I met George Bernard Shaw and a Jewish writer named Israel Cohen. Zangwill, Shaw and Cohen were the triumvirate who created the Fabian Society in England and had worked closely with a Frankfurt Jew named Mordechai who had changed his name to Karl Marx. But remember, at that time both Marxism and Communism were just emerging and nobody paid much attention to either, and nobody suspected the propaganda in the writings of those three really brilliant writers.
At that banquet, Israel Cohen told me he was then engaged in writing a book which was to be a follow-up on Zangwill’s “The Melting Pot.” The title of his book was to be A Racial Programme for the Twentieth Century. At that time, I was completely absorbed by my work as a playwright, and significant as that title was, its real objective never dawned on me, nor was I interested in reading the book. But it suddenly hit me with the force of a hydrogen bomb when I received a newspaper clipping of an item published by the Washington, D.C. Evening Star in May 1957. That item was a verbatim reprint of the following excerpt in Israel Cohen’s book, A Racial Programme for the Twentieth Century, and it reads as I quote:
"We must realize that our Party's most powerful weapon is racial tension. By propounding into the consciousness of the dark races that for centuries they have been oppressed by the Whites, we can mould them to the program of the Communist Party. In America, we will aim for subtle victory. While inflaming the Negro minority against the Whites, we will instill in the Whites a guilt complex for their exploitation of the Negroes. We will aid the Negroes to rise to prominence in every walk of life, in the professions and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the Negro will be able to intermarry with the Whites and begin a process which will deliver America to our cause."
That same excerpt was entered into the Congressional Record of June 7, 1957, by Representative Thomas B. Abernathy. Thus, the authenticity of that passage in Cohen’s book was fully established. But the one question that remained in my mind was whether it represented the official policy or plot of the Communist Party, or just a personal expression of Cohen himself. Hence I sought more proof, and I found it. For example, the illegal boat immigrants moving to Australia in most cases will come without any passports or documentation and even though they are in most cases abusing the system due to the asylum claim they are taken into the country.
In Europe, they travel by boat from North Africa to southern Europe or they cross the border from Turkey into Greece and then move on to the country they want to live in - in most cases Britain, Germany and Sweden as these nations are seen to have the "best" migrant benefits. This movement within Europe is made possible due to the no borders agreements between the majority of European countries. Britain has more restrictive policies and borders however even these are simple enough to get around when you have the lure of great economic prosperity cheering you on.

We propose that if someone from Africa is fleeing and claiming asylum then their first point of call should be to seek asylum from a politically stable country also on the African continent that preferably has the race and holds similar religious beliefs. The same principle should be practiced with Middle Eastern countries. In the case of Syria, those refugees should be resettled in other politically stable Middle Eastern countries such as Turkey or Saudi Arabia.
Western people give huge sums of money to foreign aid each year. This money can be used to encourage countries to take these people and if they wish to come back to our country, jail should be enforced.

One slave had his arms and legs broken with a sledgehammer, another was thrown from a high wall onto a meat hook and left to die, while another was dragged naked through the streets, his ankles tied to a horse’s tail.
Ohio State University history Professor Robert Davis describes the White Slave Trade as minimized by most modern historians in his book Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters: White Slavery in the Mediterranean, the Barbary Coast and Italy, 1500–1800. Davis estimates that 1 million to 1.25 million white Christian Europeans were enslaved in North Africa, from the beginning of the 16th century to the middle of the 18th, by slave traders from Tunis, Algiers, and Tripoli alone (these numbers do not include the European people which were enslaved by Morocco and by other raiders and traders of the Mediterranean Sea coast) 16th- and 17th-century customs statistics suggest that Istanbul’s additional slave import from the Black Sea may have totaled around 2.5 million from 1450 to 1700. The markets declined after the loss of the Barbary Wars and finally ended in the 1830s, when the region was conquered by France.
Hundreds of thousands of Europeans were captured by Barbary pirates and sold as slaves in North Africa and the Ottoman Empire between the 16th and 19th centuries. These slave raids were conducted largely by Arabs and Berbers rather than Ottoman Turks. However, during the height of the Barbary slave trade in the 16th and 17th centuries, the Barbary states were subject to Ottoman jurisdiction and ruled by Ottoman pashas. Furthermore, many slaves captured by the Barbary corsairs were sold eastward into Ottoman territories before, during, and after Barbary’s period of Ottoman rule.
The Barbary Muslim pirates kidnapped Europeans from ships in North Africa’s coastal waters (Barbary Coast). They also attacked and pillaged the Atlantic coastal fishing villages and town in Europe, enslaving the inhabitants. Villages and towns on the coast of Italy, Spain, Portugal and France were the hardest hit. Muslim slave-raiders also seized people as far afield as Britain, Ireland and Iceland.
In 1544, the island of Ischia off Naples was ransacked, taking 4,000 inhabitants prisoners, while some 9,000 inhabitants of Lipari Island off the north coast of Sicily were enslaved.870 Turgut Reis, a Turkish pirate chief, ransacked the coastal settlements of Granada (Spain) in 1663 and carried away 4,000 people as slaves. In 1625, Barbary pirates captured the Lund Island in the Bristol Channel and planted the standard of Islam. From this base, they went ransacking and pillaging surrounding villages and towns, causing a stunning spectacle of mayhem, slaughter and plunder. According to Milton, ‘Day after day, they struck at unarmed fishing communities, seizing the inhabitants, and burning their homes. By the end of the dreadful summer of 1625, the mayor of Plymouth reckoned that 1,000 skiffs had been destroyed and similar number of villagers carried off into slavery.’871 Between 1609 and 1616, the Barbary pirates ‘captured a staggering 466 English trading ships.’
In 1627, Pirates went on a pillaging and enslaving campaign to Iceland. After dropping anchor at Reykjavik, his forces ransacked the town and returned with 400 men, women and children and sold them in Algiers. In 1631, he made a voyage with a brigand of 200 pirates to the coast of Southern Ireland and ransacked and pillaged the village of Baltimore, carrying away 237 men, women and children to Algiers.
The barbaric slave-raiding activities of the Muslim pirates had a telling effect on Europe. France, England, and Spain lost thousands of ships, devastating to their sea-borne trade. Long stretches of the coast in Spain and Italy were almost completely abandoned by their inhabitants until the nineteenth century. The finishing industry was virtually devastated.
Paul Baepler’s White Slaves, African Masters: An Anthology of American Barbary Captivity Narratives lists a collection of essays by nine American captives held in North Africa. According to his book, there were more than 20,000 white Christian slaves by 1620 in Algiers alone; their number swelled to more than 30,000 men and 2,000 women by the 1630s. There were a minimum of 25,000 white slaves at any time in Sultan Moulay Ismail’s palace, records Ahmed ez-Zayyani; Algiers maintained a population of 25,000 white slaves between 1550 and 1730, and their numbers could double at certain times. During the same period, Tunis and Tripoli each maintained a white slave population of about 7,500. The Barbary pirates enslaved some 5,000 Europeans annually over a period of nearly three centuries.
