“Philip Cross” Affair Reveals Jewish Lobby’s Editing of Wikipedia
The news that an anonymous user by the name of “Philip Cross” has made over 30 edits per day, seven days a week, for 14 years without a single break, all to push pro-Israel propaganda, is firm evidence of the Jewish lobby’s ongoing editing of the “open” Wikipedia website, it has emerged.
As revealed in an exposé published by author, broadcaster, former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Rector of the University of Dundee from 2007 to 2010, Craig Murray, the user known as “Philip Cross” has not had one single day off from editing Wikipedia in almost five years.
“Cross” has edited every single day from 29 August 2013 to 14 May 2018. Including five Christmas Days. That’s 1,721 consecutive days of editing, Murray revealed, quoting a review first published on a site critical of Wikipedia called Wikipedia.fivefilters.org.
As Murray goes on to explain, 133,612 edits to Wikipedia have been made in the name of “Philip Cross” over 14 years.
“That’s over 30 edits per day, seven days a week. And I do not use that figuratively: Wikipedia edits are timed, and if you plot them, the timecard for “Philip Cross’s” Wikipedia activity is astonishing is astonishing if it is one individual:
Murray went on: “The operation runs like clockwork, seven days a week, every waking hour, without significant variation.
“If Philip Cross genuinely is an individual, there is no denying he is morbidly obsessed.
“I am no psychiatrist, but to my entirely inexpert eyes this looks like the behavior of a deranged psychotic with no regular social activities outside the home, no job (or an incredibly tolerant boss), living his life through a screen.
“There are three options here. ‘Philip Cross’ is either a very strange person indeed, or is a false persona disguising a paid operation to control wikipedia content, or is a real front person for such an operation in his name.”

People unaware of the political nature of the editing that goes on on the site, in this case supposedly by a single, dedicated editor, are being seriously misled.
“As an active editor for almost 15 years, Cross is very familiar with some of the more arcane Wikipedia rules and guidelines (along with their obscure acronyms) and uses them to justify removing information he dislikes in favor of his own inclusions. Often in a very subtle manner and over a long period of time. Anyone familiar with the work of the people he targets will recognize how one-sided and distorted those entries become.
“Cross is, however, much nicer to the entries of people he likes. Former hedge-fund manager and Iraq war supporter Oliver Kamm, and right-wing author Melanie Phillips, both columnists for The Times, are two examples.”
The UK’s George Galloway—an ultra-leftist UK politician who is famous for being pro-Palestinian is “Philip Cross’s” prime target, and has been responsible for no less than 1,800 edits on Galloway’s Wikipedia page.
After Galloway, the Media Lens website—which is unhesitatingly critical of Israel and reports widely on Israeli war crimes and subversion against its neighbors, is “Philip Corss’s” second most edited Wikipedia article. “Cross” is responsible for almost 80% of all content on the Media Lens entry.
Murray went on to say that “just as revealing are the people who ‘Philip Cross’ seeks to protect and promote.
“[The UK] Labour [Party] Friends of Israel’s Ruth Smeeth MP has had reference to the Wikileaks released US diplomatic cable that showed she was an informer to the US Embassy on the secrets of the Labour Party, was deleted by ‘Philip Cross.’
“Right wing [Jewish] columnist Melanie Phillips had her embarrassing climate change denial excised by Cross.
“‘Philip Cross” not only carefully tends and protects the Wikipedia entry of [Jewish] Guardian editor Katherine Viner, who has taken the paper four square into the neo-con camp, Philip Cross actually wrote the original hagiographic entry. The Guardian’s MI6 contact, Luke Harding, is particularly looked after by Cross, as are their anti-Corbyn obsessives Nick Cohen and Jonathon Freedland. So are Murdoch hacks David Aaronovitch and Oliver Kamm.”
“Finally, it is worth noting that on Wikipedia, an operation to boost the mainstream media narrative and denigrate alternative sources has the massive advantage that only information from mainstream media sources is permitted in political articles,” Murray added.
The obviousness of the matter—that the “Philip Cross” account cannot be just one person, but rather a coordinated group—will come as no surprise to all those who know that the Jews have been openly running a planned Wikipedia editing operation for over a decade.
For example, in August 2010, the Guardian newspaper reported that “Israeli groups seeking to gain the upper hand in the online debate have launched a course in “Zionist editing” for Wikipedia, the online reference site.”
In an article titled “Wikipedia editing courses launched by Zionist groups,” the paper reported that the Yesha Council, representing the Jewish settler movement which promotes the illegal theft of Palestinian land in the West Bank, was running the “workshops”—and that the director of the Yesha Council was one Naftali Bennett.
Bennett is today Israel’s Minister of Education and Minister of Diaspora Affairs.
An article in the Isreali Arutz Sheva news revealed that the “strategy and goal” of the workshops was to “educate and enable an ‘army’ of editors of Wikipedia, giving them the professional skills to write and edit the online encyclopedia’s content in a manner which defends and promotes Israel’s image.
“Seminar workshops were led by professionals and senior Wikipedia editors, and included an overview of the Wikipedia project and practical training on web editing, writing, and values.
“Organizers said the initial seminar was a success, and there is a great demand for more meetings in the future.”
An article in Newsweek magazine in November 2017 revealed that the Israeli government “has been engaged in recruiting what it has referred to as ‘cover units,’ . . a mix of international students and domestic students have been employed by Israel in a ‘professional trolling’ capacity to defeat a wide range of enemies from the boycott, divest and sanctions (BDS) movement to foreign governments.
An attempt by a Wikipedia contributor “Mojito Paraiso” tried to create an entry for “Philip Cross” on Wikipedia, merely quoting media sources—but the article was instantly deleted from Wikipedia, and the user “Mojito_Paraiso” was then banned from Wikipedia for life.
All the evidence shows clearly that the international Jewish lobby works full time to edit and censor Wikipedia to serve Jewish interests and smear and denigrate any person or group who does not follow their agenda.
